CAN3X Summerfest Basketball Tournament – Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for and participating in the CAN3X Summerfest Basketball Tournament (“Tournament”), each player (“Participant”) agrees to comply with and be bound by the following Terms & Conditions established by Can3x Hoops Inc. (“Organizer”).

2. Eligibility

All participants must be of eligible age as determined by the specific tournament rules and must complete the registration process, including any applicable fees, before participating.

3. Assumption of Risk and Waiver of Liability

Participation in outdoor basketball inherently involves risk of injury, including but not limited to sprains, fractures, or other physical harm. By participating in the Tournament:

The Participant voluntarily assumes all risks associated with playing outdoor basketball, including weather-related conditions and court surface hazards.
The Participant agrees that the Organizer, its employees, volunteers, sponsors, and partners shall not be held liable for any injuries, illnesses, damages, or losses incurred during or as a result of the Tournament.
The Participant releases, waives, and discharges the Organizer from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action arising from participation in the Tournament.

4. Media Release and Consent

By registering, the Participant grants the Organizer full rights to use images, videos, or likenesses of the Participant taken during the Tournament for promotional, marketing, and communication purposes. This includes, but is not limited to:

Use on social media platforms
Display on the Organizer’s website
Use in tournament highlight reels, promotional videos, and recap graphics

No compensation shall be owed to the Participant for such use. The Participant waives any right to inspect or approve the final content in which their image or likeness appears.

5. Code of Conduct

All Participants must conduct themselves in a respectful and sportsmanlike manner. The Organizer reserves the right to remove any player or team from the Tournament for inappropriate behavior, including but not limited to: verbal abuse, fighting, or unsportsmanlike conduct.

6. Weather Policy

The Tournament will proceed rain or shine unless extreme weather conditions pose a risk to participant safety. In the event of cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, refunds or rescheduling options will be at the sole discretion of the Organizer.

7. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia. Any disputes arising from participation shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in British Columbia.
